TutorThings
Privacy Policy
TutorThings is built around adult-managed learner accounts. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how we keep learning records understandable and constrained.
Effective March 8, 2026
What we collect
We collect the information needed to run TutorThings, personalize the guided-learning experience, and show adults what happened during a session.
- Account details: name, email address, sign-in method, and basic profile fields for the adult who created the account.
- Learner profile details: learner name, preferred name, grade level, and similar setup information entered by the adult account holder.
- Learning records: session timing, text transcripts, recaps, highlights, progress signals, and session history used in the dashboard and follow-up views.
- Plan and usage records: subscription state, usage periods, usage events, and other billing-related limits when paid features are enabled.
- Technical and product signals: logs, diagnostics, approximate device/browser details, and product analytics needed to keep the service working and improve reliability.
TutorThings currently stores text-based tutoring history for adult review. In the main learning flow, we do not intentionally keep raw voice audio recordings as part of standard session history.
How we use information
- To create and secure accounts, including email/password and Google sign-in.
- To run guided tutoring sessions and return the learner to the right session state.
- To build transcripts, session recaps, progress views, and adult-facing dashboard insights.
- To operate pricing, quotas, subscriptions, and support workflows where those features are enabled.
- To monitor reliability, prevent abuse, and improve product quality over time.
We do not use learner conversation history to run third-party advertising, and we do not sell personal data.
Learners and adult-managed accounts
TutorThings is structured around adult-managed accounts. Parents, caregivers, or educators create and control the main account, then add learner details inside the app.
Learners should not create standalone TutorThings accounts for themselves unless we explicitly release a learner-directed sign-in flow in the future. For now, the adult account holder is responsible for learner setup, permissions, and reviewing saved learning history.
